Focus on the Youth

The Eastern Caribbean Bible Society is focused on helping Barbadian youth learn about the Bible. Barbados has a proud tradition of church going and Sunday School attendance, but the current trend has seen a move away from having our young people attend church. Research has shown that by age fourteen (14) 90% of young people would have put in place the values that will guide their lives morally and determine their spiritual beliefs. The Eastern Caribbean Bible Society is seeking to share the Bible with our young Barbadians, as Proverbs 22:6 (KJV) "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it". Today's youth are tomorrows future and the future of Barbados and the future of the Caribbean. Together we can make a difference in the lives of our regions youth.

How the Bible Society helps our Youth

From introductions to the Bible to the G.O.S.H project the Bible Society is actively seeking to engage our young people. Thousands of our own
Caribbean children and youth do not own a Bible! The Eastern Caribbean Bible Society is seeking to change that. The Bible Society in the East Caribbean is a member of the World Network of United Bible Societies and a registered Charity (#104) under the Charities Act of Barbados. We have made several donations locally and we offer several great versions of the bible specific to young people for sale locally. Helping our young people get access to the word of God is a key aspect of our mandate to make the Bible available to all.

The Gallery of Students’ Heroes (GOSH) program seeks to put students confidently positioned on the Caribbean center stage. Students are surrounded by supportive, visionary adults and enabling sectors of the community. Students explore the gallery’ of outstanding achievers and achievements. Their positive experiences of the ‘Gallery’ inspire students to define and pursue their own meaningful place in the world. Joseph (Genesis 37-50) is the GOSH model. The students find relevance of the Joseph encounter to current personal, scholastic, professional, national, regional and global existence. To find out more about the GOSH program feel free to contact us.
